The sovereignty of God is one of the most important doctrines in all of Scripture because every other doctrine of God is connected to this central truth. Our God is sovereign over creation, salvation, and the new creation in the future. Our God is sovereign over kings, nations, disease, suffering, persecution, and peace.

Yet, often the way in which we demonstrate a lack of faith or gather together for corporate worship on the Lord’s Day reveals a disconnect regarding the absolute sovereignty of God. Our God deserves to be worshiped and he continues to unfold history in such a way that points to his divine control and sovereign rule.
